Be advised that this review is based upon the mercifully brief sample provided by Amazon. Color me grateful for having invested no money in it. All it cost me was the thirty minutes it took to slog through it.

In the author's notes at the beginning Andria Large, coauthor says this: "To my girls...I hope that someday when you find out that your mom is writing dirty romance novels you won't be embarrassed." I think if Saperstein's and Large's kids are embarrassed it won't be as much because of the nature of the books as it will be the EXTREMELY poor quality of the writing. The female protagonist is sappy and uninteresting and the male protagonist comes off sounding like a caricature of a horny, not very imaginative 15-16 year old boy, masturbation scene and all. The authors' writing is so unsophisticated that they must LABEL the shifting first person POVs and make liberal use of parenthetical explanations.

Sometimes bad writing offers a perverse kind of humor: an "it's so bad it's funny" kind of thing. In Hey There, Delilah, there is no humor to be found, but there is plenty of very bad, very amateurish writing. If BookBub offers this book for free and it's a choice between rearranging your sock drawer and reading this book, it will come down to a choice between doing something boring, but useful or killing brain cells by reading Hey There, Delilah. Read at your own risk.

Hey There Delilah A Taboo Love series Book 1 edition by MD Saperstein Andria Large Megan Hershenson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Delilah is such a relatable character that I found myself completely pulled into the book and couldn't put it down. She considers herself to be frumpy and unattractive, and this is further driven into her psyche the day she walks in on her boyfriend having sex with her boss.
She finds another job relatively quickly and ends up being the secretary for one of the partners of the Santino Law Firm, Nick Santino. Nick is everything you can imagine.... rich, powerful, unbelievably HOT, cocky and assertive. Her friend Charlie decides one night that they are going out to a very exclusive club that LaLa was given passes to and it's then that you discover she has a bit of exhibitionism hidden away. I have to say that "Club M" would definitely be an interesting place to visit.... Who do I need to speak with to get passes?
This was a book that easily has you experiencing the wide array of feelings that are swirling between the characters, one minute you are buried in despair and then could be floating on cloud 9. Delilah was a snarky, smart mouthed girl and I loved the bantering between her and Charlie. Oh and I definitely can't forget the playfulness with Nick. I'll admit it the end had me all weepy. I can't wait for the next book in this series to experience Charlie's story.
All in all I found this to be a great book and deserves the 5 Star Rating that I have given it!
***4.5 Cannoli-and-donuts filled and Japanese Cherry Blossoms scented Stars!***

This has been a really delightful read and it was for free on (at least last night when I one-clicked it, it was). I figured, why not? I'm glad I didn't pass on reading this because the cover doesn't exactly appeal to me but I love the blurb, the boss-secretary thing seemed hot.

Although I wouldn't say it was perfect for me and because I'm feeling good after reading this, I would focus on the happy and good parts instead of dissecting what did not work for me.

Nick Santino - funny, charming, hot, witty, and so so so sweet! He was mentioned to be quite a ladies' man but didn't dip further into it and it was fine with me. I think he was meant to be an uncaring, not-into-commitments type of guy, but it written so funny that I can't help but laugh at him.

Delilah Sampson - super witty, insecure about her body, beautiful, smart, LaLa was a fun character to read! I liked her fast wit and smart mouth and how she speaks her mind.

The story was really light, nothing too heavy or emotional but it was not a so-so book either. The build-up was good except for me, it took quite long and before I knew it, I was at 80% and their actual love story/HEA is just getting started. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this and if you're looking for an angst-free, sweet, and funny read... this might be it! And oh! I love the Christian, Gideon, and Ethan mention!
Was this written by a guy? Parts are funny, but the basis of the entire story is sex and the objectification of women. Readers are told repeatedly about the girl's "tits", "boobs", "rack", or "pussy". This reads like a 13 year old boy with his first porn magazine.
