I had read this book before & wanted to add it to my Kindle collection. However what I got was an abridged version which was very disappointing ! Whole pieces of the story were missing. If you're reading it for the first time, you probably won't notice but if you have, the missing parts are glaring ! I didn't want part of a book. Who makes these decisions ?

Arrived sooner than I thought; a great read.
This book was great! I had read the abridged version when I was younger, and when I found that it was abridged, I searched for an original copy! The book is great for anyone looking for an intriguing read, and especially for those who love the Titanic.
Half of the book is missing! Important story lines were cut. Disappointing at best. Sorry I spent the money. Never again.
This is an excellent read by Peck. It's a shame it isn't in more demand. If you love anything to do with the Titanic, then you will love this book.
Was a gift for someone, in good condition.
I read this book as a teenager, and it has been my favorite book ever since. In the beginning a girl meets a wise woman that tells her what lies ahead for her. The wise woman's words don't seem possible, as the girl goes off to begin her life as a servant. Sometimes in life we go through horrific events that we're not sure we'll make it to the other side of. But sometimes we do get through to the other side.
I read this story several years ago and I was happy to see it available on . Kind of a combination of Cinderella, the Titanic and a wonderful story woven in-between. This book never gets old.
