Misty found herself under the control of a police officer who abused her daily. He threatened to kill her. One day she accidentally found a large stash of drugs he had hidden and he became enraged. She managed to get away from him and escaped into hiding for over a year.

Working in a crappy fast food resteraunt a man comes in and calls her by her real name. Running into the back room she grabs a taser and tases him only to find out he is with the FBI (Landon). They tracked her down hoping she would testify against the cop and help them put him away. So she agrees to go into Witness protection until they put together a case and it goes to trial. Landon attracted to her keeps an eye on her and they become close against his better judgment.

Landon just "happens" to be friends with Damian & Family. When Misty tells Landon her story He thinks she may be Damians lost sister and sneaks a glass and sends it off for DNA Testing. Coincidence???

It wasn't that this was a bad story or that it was not entertaining, because it was. It is just the whole Misty getting to meet her Lost Brother & Family, Her Uncle showing up at her witness Protection house out of the blue and flying all over the place to meet the family while supposedly in Witness protection. And then the Cop finding her in Witness protection after getting out on bail etc. It was just a little far fetched for me.

Of course this is fiction and I have read many far fetched things. And I did enjoy it.

I have honestly never read a Melody Anne book that's I have not liked and book 5 in the baby for a billionaire series was no different.

This story is that of Misty and Bryson -

After living in the system as a child and then falling into the hands of a corrupt cop who would beat her to the point of death, Misty Elton's life is something of a nightmare, A living hell.. She knows she has to escape and goes on the run scared for her life.

Bryson is an FBI agent who's been put on the case of bringing Jesse down. It's a hard task to build a case against this scumbag who seems to have help in high places, evidence going missing, witnesses turning up dead. He needs Misty to testify and help him, what he doesn't count on is the emotion she brings out in him, the need to protect her.

When DNA proves she is the long lost sister to Damien (book 4) and relative to the Anderson family he knows he would do anything to give this woman the family she has never had and always dreamed to have.

The pages of this book are filled with raw emotion that blew me away, the shear intensity was something else! Misty may look down on herself and lack confidence but when it comes down to it she is strong, a real fighter and her spirit to win was inspiring,

Bryson was a great match for Misty, big and strong a great protector for Misty but also loyal and a real anchor. This book was a little different from the others in the series with its Gritty circumstance and dark nature, but it was never the less amazing and action packed.

Jesse was real scum, soul pitch black scary, Melody did a great job with character portrayal. Jesse came across as a very real villain to me.

One thing I love about Melody is she has a great way of tying in other characters, reminding us of past events and bringing things full circle. I did a little happy dance to spend time with Damien and his family again..

I will suggest that before you read this book to look at the Anderson Family tree once again. It can be hard at times to remember how all of these characters are entwined.

The whole series is incredible. I love it and I know you will love it too. Melody Anne creates a wonderful world for the Andersons and their friends. I love the family and how they’re for each other. For them friendship is an extension of the same warmth and love the show to each other and are friends for life. It’s beautiful and if you haven’t already read the Anderson’s books this would be a good time to start. Until the next one. I’ll be waiting...
This is an excellent book! It's one of those books that got lost on my kindle so I'm just getting around to reading it....GAH I hate when good books get buried!! While connected to the rest of Melody Anne's Tycoon stories it's very different and I loved it! Misty Elton is an amazing character. Strong, determined, and loving even though life has dealt her a crappy hand. She grew up in foster care enduring years of abuse only to find herself in another abusive relationship. She knows this is it, it's time to run or die. Fast forward a year and Misty is finally feeling free when a stranger approaches her telling her he knows who she is and that they need to talk. Is this the end of her hard fought freedom or will Misty run again, or is it possible that if she trusts this stranger she can put an end to her turmoil???

Definitely a great story and one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it!
This was book five, in the tycoon series. I loved all the books in this series. Each book is a stand alone. I have read all the books, but out of order, and I didn't feel lost, or confused.
This was the second time I have read this book, and I enjoyed it as much the second time as I did the first.
Misty was in a abusive relationship with a dirty cop. She knows she has to run away from him, and hide, or he will kill her. Bryson is a FBI agent that wants her ex off the street, and behind bars. He needs Misty to testify against her ex. He is there to protect her. I love the action, and suspense to this story. Misty pulled me right in to this story. My heart went out to her. She is one strong, and brave lady. I said Bryson was there to protect her, but Misty protected herself when push came to shove. She was not going to die without a fight. This book had action, suspense, a solid plot, and romance. This is one of my favorite books.
